Great Southern Lunch

Had a great lunch today at B McNeils on the square. If you havent tried it,they have one of the best meat and three lunches around!! Todays choices were pot roast, salmon patty, country fried steak and chicken tenders. I had the salmon and it was yummy. Lots of flaky salmon, little breading to hold it together. The squash casserole is different. If has yellow, zucchini and tomatoes, not a lot of cheese but loads of flavor. Their seven layer salad is fabulous. It was a littel heavy on the mayo today but after I scraped that off it was yummy. I also had lima beans. It is a lot of food for the money ( $8.25 includes meat, 3 sides, a biscuit and tea or coffee) If you are not in the mood for meat and 3 they also have salads, sandwiches and soup (try the crab bisque). The plate lunches are only served at lunch and there are always plenty of sides, maybe 20, and lots of desserts if you have room. Plus, you are supporting a local business. The servers are friendly and helpful. And the location is great, it is an old house converted to a restaurant. Very quaint.
