A little taste of Baceno in the Boro

Homemade Limoncello 10 large lemons 750ml Vodka 3 1/2 c water 2 1/2 c sugar
Using a vegetable peeler, remove the peels from lemons into long strips, ( Remove only peels, do not cut or slice lemons) Using the tip of vegetable peeler or a paring knife scrape any pith (the white stuff) off the inside of the peel. This is important as the pith will make your limoncello bitter. Your lemons will look like the photo below. You can use them for a later recipe I will share tomorrow. Place lemon peels in a pitcher and pour the vodka over top. Cover and let sit one week. on day 7 , mix sugar and water in saucepan over medium heat until fully dissolved. let cool completely. Pour sugar over lemon mix. Cover and leave overnight. Strain the limoncello into another bottle or pitcher. Chill at least 4 hours before serving. (peels can be discarded or baked at 250 in oven until firm and used as potpourri)
